The University of Canterbury is now in the middle of a Request for Proposal (RFP) project for Photocopiers/Printers and Multifunction Devices to supply the University for the next three years.
All current suppliers to the University were invited to participate and respond to the RFP. Based on the proposals received, the Evaluation Panel has shortlisted the following organisations (in no particular order):
The shortlisted organisations are having Printer and MFD Demo Days on campus.
All staff members are invited to attend in order to view and try the machines of the shortlisted organisations. All attendees at the Demo Days will be asked to complete a "simple" scoring sheet on User Friendliness of the machines on display. The scores collected from the Demo Days will be used as part of the evaluation process in deciding who the final contract will be awarded to.
Please do come along as your input is valuable in helping us make the right decision. Staff should bring along their business cards as there will be prize draws and giveaways.

Last year, Geography Department won a regional award in the bikewise battle. How will they, your department, and UC collectively do this year? From 18 February to 2 March, New Zealand organisations (and departments) will compete to see who can get the highest percentage of staff to ride a bike. Some great prizes are up for grabs, so get your fellow staff motivated and out for a spin on a bike! Participants can ride wherever they like (e.g., a ride on the weekend, bike to the shops, bike to uni) for a minimum of 2km or 10 minutes. All it takes is to ride just once during the competition period, then register your department and you under University of Canterbury’s entry at www.bikewise.co.nz/System/battle/battleregister.aspx.
There will also be a free breakfast for anyone who bikes to University on national Go By Bike Day, Wednesday 27 February, 8-10 am, C-block lawn. Music, tasty bagels, fruit, and coffee/tea – and spot prizes too.
For more information on cycling events, see www.sustain.canterbury.ac.nz/transport/cycling.
