Open Day for Engineering School
Published by the Communications and Development Department 1 August 2003
Intending students, parents and the general public will be welcome at Canterbury University’s Engineering School today when the school holds its annual Open Day.
The purpose of the Open Day is to raise the profile of professional engineering. Information will be available about professional engineering careers as well as covering the requirements, options and environment for studying towards an Engineering Degree.
As well as tours through the different departments — Chemical and Process, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical and Computer engineering — there will also be information and displays by Natural Resources and Forestry engineering and from a number of outside engineering companies.
On arrival visitors will be met by a student guide who will escort them around the school, a tour that takes about one and a half hours. School parties can visit between 1pm and 3.30pm and members of the public from 1.30pm until 7.30pm.
The main entrance to the Engineering School is on Creyke Road, between Forestry Road and Engineering Road. See the campus map at Campus Maps .
