University of Canterbury Communications Manager, John MacDonald, was a winner at this year's PRINZ (Public Relations Institute of New Zealand) Awards.
He was presented with the Not for Profit/Limited Budget category prize at an awards ceremony in Wellington this week.
The award recognises his work in developing and implementing a PR strategy to promote UC's success in the 2004 MacDiarmid Young Scientists of the Year Awards.
Mr MacDonald says the award reflects the Communications and Development Unit's commitment to providing professional public relations and communications services.
"While this award was for one particular campaign, it's an example of how we here in C and D can help the University spread the word about the brilliant things staff and students get up to around here on a daily basis."
