For University Staff

Chronicle

Since 1963 the Chronicle has been keeping the University of Canterbury and its alumni and friends informed of happenings on campus. Twenty issues are produced each year featuring news about staff, postgraduate students and research at Canterbury.

UC Diary

Formerly DiaryPlus. Published weekly from late January to mid-December by Communications and Development, it details events, notices and other happenings on campus.

Audio Visual Equipment Bookings

Please ensure equipment bookings for 2005 are arranged as soon as possible. We do not carry forward any bookings from the previous year.

Early notification of room changes after bookings have been made is essential.

Phone Judith or Joan on ext 6428, or call at the Audio Visual office beside the student cafe, ground floor, James Hight Building. Email bookings are not accepted.

Ad Hoc Room Bookings

A web site link has been established at: www.fm.canterbury.ac.nz (click on the "Room Bookings" link) for purposes of assisting staff in booking University rooms on Ilam Campus for intended after hours use.

NOTE: After hours refers to weekdays 6pm – 8am, weekends from 6pm Friday.

It is essential that Facilities Management are advised regarding the proposed use of rooms. This allows for service inputs regarding security and heating or cooling. If a confirmed booking is not in place and staff are called out after hours, a cost is incurred to the University and must be recovered.

The remote request for a room booking is automatically forwarded to Frances Register, Room Bookings Co-Ordinator. When the room status is determined, a confirmation or decline notice will be sent, the booking entered on Syllabus+ and notification lodged to Security and Works & Services. Bookings may also continue to be made via telephone ext 6648, Fax 6484, frances.register@canterbury.ac.nz.
